The session was attended by more than 1,500 people including members and veterans of the Assembly from all regions of the country, the chairpersons of the national and regional ethnic and cultural associations, MPs, heads of central executive bodies, political parties, religious organizations, NGOs, diplomatic missions of foreign states, rectors of universities, reps of science and the media.
In his speech, the President congratulated the participants of the session on the 20th anniversary of the Assembly noting that it was formed in a difficult time for the country.
Nursultan Nazarbayev also noted that at the beginning of the XX century in Kazakhstan arrived 5.6 million people. In 1930s of the last century during the collectivization 250,000 dispossessed peasants were deported to our country. 1.2 million people have been resettled from all over the Soviet Union for the construction of industrial plants in Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan's President noted that all the initiatives including Kazakhstan-2050 Strategy, the new industrialization program "Nurly Zhol", Five people's reforms, "Mangilik Yel" are meant for many years to come.
Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized that in this regard the Assembly should be actively involved in the implementation of the five reforms and, above all, in the formation of a single nation of the future.
The session was also attended by veterans of the Assembly, foreign visitors, delegates from the regions, athletes, representatives of blue-collar occupations, youth organizations, the participants of the first Kazakhstan ski expedition to the North Pole. They stressed the importance of maintaining stability and social accord which is the basis for sustainable development of the country.
It should be noted that during the session there have been appointed two Vice-Chair persons of the Assembly L.Ni and O.Dymov.
In addition, the President awarded commemorative medals "Kazakstan halky Assambleyasyna 20 zhyl" to the members of the organization as well as activists of ethno-cultural associations.
Session of the Assembly expressed its full support for the national idea "Mangilik Yel" that forms the basis of civil values and spiritual mood of the society.
