The Forum aims to develop the capability of the western regions of Kazakhstan and establish new industries to meet the demand of large oil and gas projects as well as to identify new investment potential in other sectors of the regions’ economies. Job creation is high on the Forum’s agenda.
The organizer of the event is KAZENERGY – including KazMunaiGas (KMG), Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO), North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC) and Tengizchevroil.
The Forum has official support from Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Oil and Gas, Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the governments of Mangistau, Atyrau and Western-Kazakhstan regions and Kazakhstan’s Foreign Investors Council.
Forum speakers will include Sauat Mynbayev, Minister of Oil & Gas; Asset Issekeshev, Minister of Industry & New Technologies; Gulshara Abdykalikova, Minister of Labor & Social Protection; Lyazzat Kiinov, Chairman of KazMunaiGas; Tim Miller, General Director of Tengizchevroil; Luca Vignati, Operations Director of KPO; Lord Waverley, Chairman of the Britain-Kazakhstan Inter-Parliamentary Group in the British Parliament.
Lord Waverley, Chairman of the Britain-Kazakhstan Inter-Parliamentary Group and Advisor to the KazMunaiGas Chairman said: “Western Kazakhstan is a new and interesting market with huge economic potential. A number of reports and presentations will be made at the Forum showing the Government of Kazakhstan’s intention to stimulate economic growth in the west of the country and pointing out the substantial opportunities for businesses seeking to become partners in developing the economy.”
