"I express gratitude to Yerzhan Kazykhanov for his work during the chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the Organization of Islamic Conference. Notwithstanding the difficult situation that has arisen in the Muslim world, I think that we did well with this mission. Yerlan Idrissov has already worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and for many years was the ambassador to London and Washington, and has a great experience. Now this experience must be used for the benefit of the people and country," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

The Kazakh President stressed that special attention should be paid to addressing foreign economic policy issues.

"Now we realize the program of industrial innovative development and our task is to attract new technologies. It is necessary to work pragmatically. In particular, to improve the work of embassies in those countries where we have important economic contacts. We came to a point when we have the opportunity to invest abroad. If necessary, we can become shareholders of high-tech companies, "the Kazakh President told.

Nursultan Nazarbayev also noted that the Ministry has been successful in all areas over the past decade.

"One of the main activities of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry we can note was the OSCE Summit. Our presidency over the organziation has got a great response in the world. Besides, it should be noted Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OIC, the activities within the SCO and CICA, the Customs Union, the Single Economic Space, which is one of the priorities for the coming years. These are the key challenges you are facing now," Nursultan Nazarbayev concluded.
