Agreements signed at West Kazakhstan Investment Forum

Astana, September 26th: Organized by KazMunayGas (KMG) in conjunction with the Akimats (mayors) of Atyrau, Mangistau and West Kazakhstan provinces, a three-day international Investment Forum to establish new production facilities and create jobs in West Kazakhstan ended yesterday. Over 500 delegates from 35 countries took part.

A number agreements were signed - all of which point to a healthy economic future for West Kazakhstan.
Signed documents include…

 

  • MoU between KMG, the Akimat of Mangistau and Castle Oil & Gas Fields Services LLC (Italy) to create an industrial park called ‘Aksa’i in Zhanaozen. At least 150 new jobs will be created.

 

  • Agreement between KMG, Samruk-Kazyna Invest LLP, the Akimat of Mangistau region and Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes (VMT) (France, Germany) to create a plant to produce premium connections for oil-country tubular goods manufacturing.

 

  • MoU between KMG and DKG-East Company (Hungary) for oil and gas equipment manufacturing.

 

  • MoU between KMG and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC)
    to start production of different types of oil and gas equipment demanded by oil and gas companies

 

  • MoU between Akimat of Mangistau and Active Solar GmbH Co. (Austria) for the creation of a manufacturing line with a capacity of 100 MW per year in the special economic zone Sea Port Aktau using innovative technology.

 

  • MoU between Akimat of Mangistau and Altyn KDT LLP to construct a plant in the Mangistau region designed for recycling of bituminous materials from the Beke field.

 

KazMunaiGaz is Kazakhstan’s national operator for exploration, production, refining and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing the interests of the state in Kazakhstan’s petroleum sector. 100% of the shares of JSC NC KazMunaiGaz are owned by JSC Samruk-Kazyna, the national welfare fund.
