Kazakhstan celebrates the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate

During September and October, Kazakhstan will celebrate the 550th anniversary of the formation of the Kazakh Khanate. The Khanate, which has existed from 1465 into the early 18th century, is considered to have played an important role in the emergence of a Kazakh nation. The foundation date is known from the study known as Tarikh-i-Rashidi authored by a 16th century Central Asian historian Mirza Muhammad Haidar Dughlat.
